Matter Assemblers are machines that can fabricate objects by assembling atoms into complex structures. When a user requests an item, the assembler searches a massive database to determine the exact atoms required. For example, if you wanted glass, the assembler determines that it needs silicon, oxygen, and trace amounts of sodium, calcium, boron. It then draws said atoms from a Source Network, which is basically a supply chain that delivers the necessary elements, and rapidly positions and bonds these atoms in the correct sequence to form the desired product.
To speed up the process, many Source Networks utilize have "widgets". For example, an H2O widget is a ready-made cluster of water molecules that can be quickly added to any item requiring water without having to recreate each individual molecule.
